“During the ten days I’ve been training I have confirmed the large differences between the Thai and Spanish football. I’m trying to adapt quickly improve. Atletico’s players are an example in every training,” he said.

Considered one of the brightest stars, not just in Thailand but the whole of South East Asia, Teerasil jetted off for the trial not long after he was one of the stand out performers at December’s 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup, winning the golden boot with five goals.

Whether his trial leads to any offers from the club for something more permanent remains to be seen, but in the meantime Teerasil is happy to be amongst some of the best players in Spain and learn as much as he can.

“I appreciate the opportunity that I am living. I am fulfilling the dream of any Thai player. Training with players of this level is a great opportunity, I’m a lucky to be here.

“I hope to learn as much as possible from this great experience with Atletico Madrid.

“Spanish football is very different. Here you play harder, the pace of play is extremely fast, (they) have a lot of quality players and tactically it’s a very high level,” he continued.

What was originally planned to be a two-week trial has now been extended to a full month after Atletico officials decided they wanted to get a closer look at the Thai Premier League’s top scorer for 2012.
