Asians Abroad - January 19 - 21

With the Bundesliga back in action after a short winter break, it meant the return to action for a host of Asian players in Europe. While in South and Central America, there was a starting debut for Chen Zhizhao and a winning goal for Yuto Ono in Mexico.

Once again we provide the only comprehensive listing of those who did and didn’t see action across the weekend.

Eiji Kawashima played a full game for Standard Liege in their 0-0 draw with Gent in the Belgian Pro League
Shinji Kagawa was substituted after 62 minutes for Manchester United in their 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the English Premier League
Maya Yoshida played a full game for Southampton in their 0-0 draw with Everton in the English Premier League
Atsuto Uchida played a full game for Schalke 04 in their 5-4 win over Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga
Hiroki Sakai was an unused substitute for Hannover 96 in their 4-5 loss to Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga

Hajime Hosogai was a 92nd minute substitute for Bayer Leverkusen in their 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga
Takashi Inui was substituted after 83 minutes for Eintract Frankfurt in their 1-3 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga
