HISTORY
Founded in 1927 as Eveready Association, it wasn’t until 2006 that the club changed its name to United Sports Club.

The Kolkata-based club was languishing in the fifth division of Indian football until an ambitious group of youngsters took over the club in 1994. In 1996 the club was promoted to the fourth division and there was no looking back as they set their sights on promotion to the I-League.

After three unsuccessful campaigns they achieved promotion to the I-League in 2008 and have now set their sights on meeting the AFC Club Licensing criteria.

Until the end of the 2011 I-League season the club was known as Chirag United, however after Chirag pulled out of their sponsorship the club reverted to being known as United Sports Club.
