On the final weekend before the end of the transfer window, some players turned out for their sides for the last time this year. Shinji Kagawa was the standout performer with a brace for Borussia Dortmund.

Below is a comprehensive list of those that did and didn’t see action over the weekend.

 

Japan
Eiji Kawashima played a full game for SK Lierse in their 2-0 win over Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League
Tadanari Lee was a 62nd minute substitute for Southampton in their 1-1 draw with Milwall in their 4th Round FA Cup tie
Shinji Kagawa played a full game and scored a brace for Borussia Dortmund in their 3-1 win over Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga (see below)

Makoto Hasebe was substituted after 82 minutes for WfL Wolfsburg in their 0-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga
Hajime Hosogai played a full game and laid on a beautiful assist for the second goal in Augsburg’s 2-2 draw with Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga
Atsuto Uchida was substituted after 46 minutes for Schalke 04 in their 4-1 win over FC Koln in the Bundesliga
Shonji Okazaki was a 46th minute substitute for VfB Stuttgart in their 0-3 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga
Maya Yoshida played a full game for VVV Venlo in their 0-4 loss to RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie
